NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The North Myrtle Beach City Council met in a regularly scheduled meeting on September 19, 2022.
Prior to the regularly scheduled meeting, council members held an executive session to discuss the following items. No votes were taken.
- A legal briefing regarding Cherry Grove Beach Gear, LLC, et al vs. City of North Myrtle Beach, Case Number 4:22-cv-02198-RBH
- A legal briefing regarding Michael Moshoures vs. City of North Myrtle Beach et al, Case Number 4:22-cv-02123-JD
- Discussion regarding potential property acquisition
- A legal briefing regarding cease and desist letter to Teazers
During the regularly scheduled meeting, Council Members approved minutes from a City Council meeting on August 15, along with special called City Council meetings on August 22, and August 29.

The items below were approved:
- RESOLUTION: To approve the Mutual Aid Agreement between the City of North Myrtle Beach and Coastal Carolina University (APPROVED)
- MOTION TO APPROVE: Wheel to Surf on October 8, 2022 (APPROVED)
- ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Request to rezone 8.9 acres off West Port Drive from Highway Commercial (HC) and Mobile/Manufactured Home Residential (R-3) to Mid-Rise Multifamily Residential (R-2A) (APPROVED)
- ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Amendment to the Parkway Group Planned Development District (PDD) creating the Grande Dunes North sign package (APPROVED)
- ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Petition for annexation and zoning designation for 80.75 acres off Water Tower Road (APPROVED)
- ORDINANCE/SECOND READING: Creating the RL Bell Tract Development Agreement and to authorize the City Manager to sign the document on behalf of the City (APPROVED)
Several new items on the agenda were also approved. There was a second public hearing regarding an amendment to the Parkway Group PDD Development Agreement for the Building Materials and Assembly Site (a.k.a., the "Truss" Site). No one from the public commented during the second public hearing.

- ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: Amendment to the Parkway Group PDD Development Agreement for the Building Materials and Assembly site (a.k.a., the “Truss” site) and to authorize the City Manager to sign the document on behalf of the City (APPROVED)
- ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: Petition for annexation and zoning designation for 0.44 acres on Riverside Drive (APPROVED)
- ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: Petition for annexation and zoning designation for 13.75 acres on Water Tower Road – Note: Petitioner has requested postponement to the City Council Meeting scheduled for October 3, 2022 (MOTION TO POSTPONE APPROVED)
- ORDINANCE/FIRST READING: Petition for annexation and zoning designation for 0.36 acres on Cenith Drive (APPROVED)
