Join our Parks and Recreation team and on-staff Master Naturalist for Get Out & Learn, a program focusing on nature education. Each month (Fall - Spring) they will be meeting at different locations throughout North Myrtle Beach and exploring nature through the plants & animals in our coastal area. Open to all ages*.

Join our Parks and Recreation staff as we learn about birds, best birding practices, and more.

Explore Our Beach

Join our Parks and Recreation staff as we explore our beach fronts around town to identify shells, shark teeth, and more! Bring your favorite finds for our Master Naturalist to identify. Plan to get your feet wet and bring a bag to collect any shells or shark teeth you may want to keep. 

Get Wild About Animals

Join us for a morning filled with wild animals! Out of the Ark Educational Shows will be joining us and bringing all kinds of animals with them for an educational show on reptiles, birds, and mammals - come prepared to learn and have fun!

Rockin' with Reptiles

Join our Parks and Recreation staff as we learn about reptiles and meet a few new friends.

Science of Fall Colors

Join our Parks and Recreation team to learn about fall foliage and why leaves change color seasonally.

Secrets of the Salt Marsh

Join our Parks and Recreation team to learn about the plants and wildlife inhabiting our coastal salt marshes and their intertidal habitat.

Shark Teeth Forensics

Join our Parks and Recreation staff and guest speaker, Charles Shelton Jr., head of Myrtle Beach Shark Teeth group to discuss and learn fun facts about shark teeth we find in our local area, tips for combing the beaches for teeth, and much more! You will also get to see many of the shark teeth Charles has found over the years.

Shark Tooth Hunting

Join us for some shark tooth hunting along the beach. We will be joined by Charles Shelton Jr. from Myrtle Beach Shark Teeth group to help with some tips for finding and identifying teeth. This will be a self-guided walk after a brief discussion along the coast and serves as a follow up to our Shark Teeth Forensics class. 

Wonders of Weather

Join us along with Ed Piotrowski, WPDE Chief Meteorologist, to learn about the wonders of weather, hurricanes, and hurricane preparedness.
