The North Myrtle Beach Police Junior K9 Unit is a school program developed to help promote positive behaviors, academics, and teamwork. The Junior K9 Unit works with children in Kindergarten through 5th grade schools in and around North Myrtle Beach. The goal of the program is to recognize children for good behaviors and performance while establishing a positive relationship with our agency and officers.
The program works closely with the local public/private schools in and around North Myrtle Beach to nominate one child from each school, each month. Each month, a school representative will select a child to participate in the Junior K9 program based on the following criteria:
• Setting examples for others by having good behavior in the classroom
• Maintain good grades
• Must have good attendance at school
• Have a good sense of what is right and wrong
• Stand up against bullying by not engaging in it or supporting it
These traits are important for a child to develop and practice to be successful. Our program will support these traits and recognize those who exhibit them.
This program is completely run off of community donations. An investment into this program is an investment into the future. Donate today!
