RESULTS -- MARCH 2 SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL ELECTION
The North Myrtle Beach Municipal Election Commission has provided the following preliminary vote tallies for the March 2 special election for one At-Large City Council seat:
- Dr. Elizabeth Conley – 80
- Elizabeth Anne Prince – 49
To win an election outright, a candidate must achieve 50% of the total votes cast, plus one. No candidate met that criteria in this election, and there will be a March 16, 2021 runoff election between the two candidates with the most votes: Trey Skidmore with 961 votes, and Ron Nichols with 514 votes.
The Election Commission will meet on Thursday, March 4 at 10:00 am at City Hall to certify the election.
We thank all of the candidates for having offered their talents and expertise to North Myrtle Beach voters. It's not easy to step up to the plate in this manner, and we all appreciate the care you have shown for North Myrtle Beach.
